Aniline explodes on contact with fuming nitric acid (Lewis, R.J., Sr. 1992. Sax's Dangerous Properties of Industrial Materials, 8th Edition. New York: Van Nostrand Reinhold. pp. 254.), reacts violently with nitric/sulfuric acid mix or chlorosulfonic acid (Lewis 254), may spontaneously ignite with either nitric/sulfuric acid mix or fuming nitric acid (Rocket Propellant Handbook, Kit, B., Evered, D. S., London, MacMillan, 1960. pp. 239, 242; Spengler, G. et al. 1965. Brennst. Chem 46:1172.), and may form explosive products with perchloric acid (Lewis 254).
