The presence of nitro groups can enhance decomposition of materials that have reacted with diazonium salts. One literature example involves diazonium tetrahaloborates containing nitro substituents (Pavlath, A. E. et al., Aromatic Fluorine Compounds, 15, New York, Reinhold, 1962.) Various combustion gases may be generated with these materials.
