Hazard Predictions

No evidence of an adverse reaction was found for the case where both the fluoride salt and the metal hydride are free from water. However, if water is present, the fluoride salt could react to form a small amount of hydrofluoric acid. Hydrides react spontaneously and irreversibly with proton donors such as acids to form flammable H2 gas (Rittmeyer, P., U. Wietelmann. 2002. Hydrides. In Ullmann's Encyclopedia of Industrial Chemistry. Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA. (Online); Eggeman, T. 2001. Hydrides. In Kirk-Othmer Encyclopedia of Chemical Technology. John Wiley & Sons, Inc. (Online)).
