Hazard Predictions
- Corrosive: Reaction products may be corrosive
- Flammable: Reaction products may be flammable
A hazardous reaction is predicted between anhydrides and alkynes with attached hydrogen (Predicted). Anhydride cleavage and formation of carboxylic acids and substituted acetylenes is predicted. While no direct evidence was found for this interaction, anhydrides are known to react in a similar way with acids as weak as alcohols or water. Acetylenes with attached hydrogen atoms can be considered to be very weak acids.
