When combined, strong oxidizers and alcohols may react with intensity, as shown in the examples below. However, no specific evidence was found for a hazardous reaction between weak oxidizers and alcohols. Because of the nature of the members of the Weak Oxidizing Agents group we would not expect reaction kinetics to yield hazardous conditions. We urge chemists to perform testing to ensure that hazards do not occur under conditions appropriate to the scenario.
