Hazard Predictions

Aldehydes can undergo base-catalyzed addition reactions, called aldol additions. With weak bases, these reactions are unlikely to go to completion without special manipulation. Some heat may be generated (Loudon, Marc. 2002. Organic Chemistry. 4th ed. New York: Oxford University Press. p. 1014-1016). Caution should be used before proceeding. Further research of comparable examples in the literature or very small scale, carefully controlled experiments may be needed to fully assess compatibility.
Potential Gas Byproducts
