Hazard Predictions
- Polymerization hazard: Polymerization reaction may become intense and may cause pressurization
The combination of pure water with oximes does not give hazardous products or effects. However, if the water is acidified, this can initiate an exothermic polymerization reaction in the oxime monomer that may cause overpressurization hazards. Generally, polymerization of oximes via direct hydrolysis requires heat (>260 deg. C).
